Greenhouse Academy is a family-friendly Netflix original series that follows the lives of a group of teens who attend an elite school for gifted students in Southern California. The show is set in an idyllic setting, nestled among stunning hills and surrounded by verdant greenery, the Greenhouse Academy is a prestigious preparatory school where only the brightest students are itted.
The series is based on the Israeli show, The Greenhouse, which aired from 2012 to 2017, and explores a range of different themes including friendship, loyalty, teamwork, and the struggles that teenagers often experience as they navigate their way through life.
At the heart of the show is a pair of siblings, Alex (Finn Roberts) and Hayley (Ariel Mortman), who are starting their first year at the Greenhouse Academy. The siblings come from a tough background, their mother has ed away and their father is away working as an astronaut. They instantly find themselves in different crowd due to their different interests, but as they try to find their footing among the elite students, they discover that there is more to the Academy than just learning.
The series also showcases the unique challenges that these gifted teenagers face, such as dealing with the pressures of academia, complicated relationships, and the challenges of growing up in a fast-paced and competitive world.
Alex is clever, nerdy, and excited to start at the academy, while Hayley is more daring, impulsive, and science-driven. They soon find themselves on opposite sides of various conflicts within the school. They work with their respective groups in various competitions and projects, including team problem-solving challenges, chess games, and spy missions.
Alongside Alex and Hayley, there is an ensemble cast of talented young actors who make up the rest of the student body, including the popular dance crew, the Ravens, and the science club, the Eagles. There is also an intriguing ing cast, including other teachers and s at the academy, and various family that both help and harm the siblings.
Despite the show's focus on the competitive elements of the school, the storylines don't stray too far into any one single genre. The series features elements of science fiction, teen drama, and suspense all rolled into one package
