The close relationship between Japan and prior to the Second World War is explored in this movie that uses the difficult period of the 1930s as the backdrop to a tale of two friends returning to their relationship. The first friend is a professor of German at a celebrated college in Japan, the second has been accused of the murder of a woman he was involved in a relationship with. As the college professor spends more time with his former friend he begins to see how the occult affects every aspect of his life.
