Steve Everett, an Oakland Tribune journalist, is given the chance to cover the execution of convicted killer Frank Beachum. Bob Findley, Steve's boss, wants him gone as soon as possible. When Steve learns that Frank Beachum might be innocent, he feels he must prove it, risking it all to free an innocent man.
