Them is an American import of a French film which "frightened Europe" according to the trailer. The original name for the movie was "Ils" and it centers around a woman teaching at French school in Bucharest. The story involves a group of people who are surrounding the house while wearing hoods to hide their identity. The movie stars Olivia Bonamy, Michael Cohen and Adriana Mocca. It was directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud. It was an official selection of the Philadelphia Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival and the Newport Film Festival.

The movie received excellent reviews which ed its working as a horror film, but one that did not rely on gore as the primary means to scare the audience. Jonathan "Wossy" Ross said the film was "77 minutes of gloriously maintained tension."
