Watch Heroes of the Alamo

The story of the Alamo has been told several times in the movies. One of the first Hollywood treatments of the Alamo is Heroes of the Alamo. It is a 1937 movie that incorporates some of the battle scenes from an earlier Hollywood movie about the Alamo, the 1926 film Davy Crockett at the Fall of the Alamo. One of the unusual things about this version of the Alamo story is that it doe not focus on the Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie. In place of the traditional heroes of the Alamo, this version focuses on the a couple named Al Maron and Susanna Dickenson and their daughter Angelina. Although this is largely a fictionalized of the Alamo, it is interesting nonetheless.
