As the story progresses, we see Hercules grow up as a mortal boy named "Herc," raised by a kind couple named Amphitryon and Alcmene. Despite his great strength, Herc is constantly teased by his peers for being different. But when he meets the beautiful Megara (Meg) and falls in love, he resolves to become a true hero so that he can stay with her forever.

To do so, Hercules seeks out the help of Philoctetes (Phil), a satyr who trains heroes. Despite Herc's klutziness, Phil agrees to help him become a true hero. Under Phil's tutelage, Herc becomes stronger, more agile, and more confident. He even goes on several heroic adventures, such as saving a town from a monster and stopping a group of bandits.

But when Herc discovers his true identity and learns of Hades' evil plan to destroy Mount Olympus, he faces his greatest challenge yet. With Meg by his side, he sets off on a quest to defeat Hades and restore his godhood, while also saving the people he loves and becoming the hero he was always meant to be.
