Colosio: El asesinato is a 2012 Mexican thriller directed by Carlos Bolado that deals with the 1994 murder of Luis Donaldo Colosio who, in 1994, was shot in a head at point-blank range as he made his way through a crowd of ers only three months before an election he was sure to win. The killer was arrested on the spot and stated that he acted alone. Most did not believe him. The film begins with the president-to-be's murder and gives a fictionalized of the aftermath, weaving its way through the history of one of Mexico's most tragic events.
