After World War II has ended, a large group of Italians decide to immigrate to Australia in hopes of picking up the pieces of their lives and finding fulfilling and lucrative work. A Girl in Australia tells the story of these immigrants, how they interact with one another and some of the non-truths that they tell as they work on creating brand new lives in a new country.
